Critical condition

Is it serious, doctor? Inflationary fever, bond hypertension, and crude oil tachycardia. The symptoms of a stock market on the brink of cardiac arrest keep piling up.
Up 3.7% year over year and once again above expectations, US inflation keeps the pressure on the Fed and the US government.
And in this story, the jitters of the emergency-room duo Warsh-Trump bode nothing good.
During his remarks at the latest IMF meeting, Kevin Warsh, aware of how serious things are, took care not to dwell on the subject of inflation. Another well-timed sidestep to avoid piling on.
While the Fed chair does his best to buy time, Donald Trump is bending over backwards to put out the energy crisis, leaning hard on compromises over Russian diesel.
But nothing works. Despite the growing number of resuscitation attempts, Dow futures can’t climb back up.
Faced with the rout in the Tech sector, the hope of a sector rotation that might rescue the world’s oldest stock index has surfaced in the specialist press, but the situation could just as easily turn into a broad sell-off.
My trading plan

The underlying trend stays bearish on Dow futures, which could hand us a fresh selling push this week.
In control of the situation, the short sellers managed to take their profits near the symbolic 51,000-point threshold before letting the market bounce.
The latest buying surge got trapped a short distance from resistance at 52,844 points. In this context, the market could go hunting for buyers’ stop-losses below support at 50,858 points over the coming sessions.
Happy trading!
